Elizabeth Gonzalez is proud to support and push for change throughout the community. Elizabeth believes the most important role of a city councilperson is to concentrate on the necessities that affect us the most, which is safe streets, safe neighborhoods, and investment in infrastructure - especially in the parts of our neighborhood that have been left behind. Gonzalez to address this issue head-on, and rally the support needed to make the proper change. AFFORDABLE HOUSING:
Do you support apartment construction in the city? What solutions would you support?
Yes! I do support apartment construction in the city while one solution will not solve the affordable housing crisis, there are many options for us to consider: Allow innovative development around complex and duplex, triplex and fourplex build. Comply with state law to allow accessory dwelling units. Wilmer already has taken this step, and we look forward to seeing the results. Consider land trust models, which can be a hung on the ladder toward home ownership, allowing for equity to build in the homeownership.
